  Central College Bangalore, is one of the oldest heritage colleges of India set up by the British Administration in 1858. Rev. J. Garrett was the first principal of the Central High School, later renamed Central College.This college was originally affiliated to University of Mysore later transferred to Bangalore University. The buildings remind us of the classical architecture of yore. The ambience is beautiful with its greenery and century old trees. many trees are felled for development yet it retains its lustre. Maintenance is very poor as is known of Bangalore University administration.
