::Edit 1 : An old student of Chand who is now a CS has posted a 5 star rating soon after I posted my review. Don't know whether the academy called him up and asked to do so? As in the review, for pure students, who are obsessed with studies only. Chand may be the best! Edit 2 : Thank god. Kerala University have now scrapped private registration. So,the outdated yearly system will now come to an end. Hope they provide semester scheme in the future. Edit 3 : Contrary to their previous years advertisements, they are now giving photographs of rank holders. Rank holders means those of PRIVATE REGISTRATION (ANNUAL SCHEME) and not including regular colleges in it. Ranking of regular college students are different as they study in CBCSS ( Semester System) I made a big mistake, and I don't want anyone else to make it ! :| Frank Opinion If you wish to enjoy your college life, this is not the best place for you. Major Cons *Only Studies, Nothing else. *Annual Scheme of exams ( common to all Private Registration Candidates of all institutes) Definitely a burden. No internal marks. No extra points. Scoring shall be low. I personally did not know about this. If I knew this I wouldnāt have opted for Chand *Jail like atmosphere. You are not allowed to talk to your peers, especially talking to girls is often looked upon with an eye of suspicion. *Cramped classrooms Jail like treatment + Cramped classrooms = should I explain more? *No proper break time There is continuous class from 8:30 to 11:10, and a very āgenerousā break of 5 minutes! And, boys are asked to stand out during the break and through that cramped spaces it takes almost 5 minutes to get out. And the break ends! Cool Isnāt it? *No celebrations No Onam/Xmas unlike that in Co-operative/Bethany/Xaviers colleges *Discouraging Faculty (not all) [one of the main reasons I hate Chand] Some of the faculties discourages us by saying that due to annual scheme of exams, we will only stand behind Regular college students as we donāt have internal marks/ extra activities.Teachers donāt even give a damn about us! They are like āoru gathiyum illathonda ivanmar ivide padikkan vannekunnathā ( not to all students. But they donāt care about other students who are hearing all this). They often say, āIthoru āTuition Centreā aanu ā :/ :/ Faculties like Archana teacher, Reji sir , Minu teacher all are good. They are passionate about their job! Conclusion If you just want to study, Secure an accounting job. Chand is a good option. Else opt for another good college. Self financing colleges are far better. They offer semester system and better freedom, and most importantly better marks. Please donāt blindly believe the blabbering of the receptionist, and please donāt join here seeing the big names in the brochure. Theyāre just magnets to attract you! Make a wise decision. Thank you.
