  The imposing exterior stands out over the hustle and bustle of Agra town. The gorgeous red sandstone is quite a site to behold. I wondered if the outside was the best part but was thrilled to find stunning architecture throughout my walk. The various buildings have aged surprisingly well and so much decorative detail remains. The manicured green areas give a polished feel to the interior. I also enjoyed the small Indian Palm Squirrels that are all around as well as the Macaques which are fun. The other great experience is seeing the Taj Mahal from the rear in the distance from a number of viewing spots in the fort. Almost as impressive as the front view. Well almost. Enjoyable walk around and good to visit later in the day as we did as it was a little less hot.

  Average Time to Explore: 2 hours. It should be your must visit list. Agra Fort, Agra, UP, India. Built by Akbar in 1565 A.D, this Fort is a masterpiece of design and construction. Within the Fort are a number of exquisite buildings, including Moti Masjid, Diwn-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas and Musamman Burj, where Emperor Shah Jahan died in imprisonment. Jahangir’s Palace, Khaas Mahal and Sheesh Mahal are the other important monuments inside the Fort.

  So called the Jahangir's Palace Constructed with red sandstone some places with Marble, this will give a good look to visitors while entering inside of the palace.this noteworthy architecture building located inside the Agra fort. best place for photo loving people., this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  The palace was built by the emperor Shah Jahan. It is one of the earliest surviving buildings of Akbar's reign. Jahangir in his memories has clearly mentioned that the buildings were erected by his father Akbar but did not take any credit for the construction of Jahangiri palace or Mahal. Mughal empress Nur Jahan used this magnificent palace as her residence until her death on 17 December 1645 . There is a huge bowl called Hauz-i-Jahangiri that is carved out of a single piece of stone. This was used as a container for fragrant rose water. Jahangiri Mahal may be the most noteworthy building inside the Agra Fort of India. The Mahal was the principal zenana (palace for women belonging to the royal household), and was used mainly by the Rajput wives of Akbar. It is a form Islamic architecture .Jahangir Palace is the largest part of Agra Fort in Uttar Pradesh, India. Emperor Akbar built the palace in the 16th century after he made the site on the bend of the Yamuna river his capital. He launched a massive rebuilding campaign of the fort, completing it in 1573. Akbar built the Orcha palace for his son Jahangir. Jahangir’s wife Nur Jahan resided in the palace. Instead of using the same red sandstone that is found at Agra, Jahangir’s son Shah Jahan chose white marble when he built the Taj Mahal for his wife next door. The Jahangir palace is one of the top examples of Mughal Architecture, with intricate Hindu and Islamic motifs. Only 30 of the original 500 buildings at the site survive. Much of the fort was destroyed by Shah Jahan and later by the British invaders.
