Kaba Gandhi No Delo (literally "Kaba Gandhi's house"), Rajkot was Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi's primary family home in India until 1915. Kaba Gandhi No Delo has now been converted into a museum called Gandhi Smriti. Mahatma Gandhi's father, in the name of Karamchand Gandhi was also known as Kaba Gandhi. The name of the house has been derived from Gandhiji's father's name. In Gujarati, the words Kaba Gandhi No Delo literally means 'Kaba Gandhi's residence'. Whenever you visit the museum first be sure about parking of your personal vehicles because it's situated in main market.

Getting to Kaba Gandhi No Deli can be an issue since it's located in the old part of the city with narrow lanes and by-lanes. Parking for 4 wheelers or 2 wheelers is almost non existent. Once you navigate your way and get inside the compound, the house where Mahatma Gandhi was raised the ambiance transcends into one of place and bliss. The prayer room of the house has something magical and spiritual about it, you will feel at peace. Guaranteed. The house itself is not exactly the same as what it was back then, extensive restoration and fair amount of modifications to incorporate an art gallery cum museum takes away a bit of the original charm. Property is well maintained and the local guide was pretty helpful in running through some episodes of Mahatmas life. Bottomline - Must visit place for any tourist in Rajkot. Peace and ambiance of the place will have you spend more time than required at this place.
