  This is a historical monument. This is one of 12 gates of Ancient walled city of Amritsar. It is said that there was King's Treasury inside city through this gate, so was called by " Gate Khajana" which in Urdu language mean Treasure. Originally, every gate was having a very heavy wooden gate, but in past time, there was no care for heritage, so gates got rotten and perhaps local government removed those. Now as Heritage Conservation is fashion, the rest of Gate building is cared. Now a days it is a bust traffic area.
