Loved this place a lot . This place has kind of an eerie charm . I visited this place when.I was in my teens . I was mesmerised to see the huge yellow sand stone castle which the great Satyajit Ray had named "Sonar Kella" which means the golden castle . He had picturised his film named "Sonar kella in the alleys of this fort . It was very interesting to see families staying within the premises of the fort for generations . As young person I was in awe of the armoury exibited , I was almost transported to the era of the kings . There is a small temple of "Hinglaj mata" inside the fort , I found each and every thing wondrous . While coming back , I wanted to visit this place once again . Wishes do come true , I had a chance to revisit this place once more thirty years later .

We have filmed our most of the Holywood pictures like " Junglebook" here extensively. I have fantastic experiences of this grand Fort and the people taking care of it. I love people of Jodhpur incl. other parts of Rajasthan. The live music played by the artists at the corner of the road inside the fort, still vibrates in my ear. Great place great people. God bless all of them.

Mesmerized to have been inside such an awesome structure. One needs to look towards the sky and wonder how such exquisite stone carved walls were built. The finesse of the work, the colour of the stone, the architecture seems as if they wanted to make a palace and not a fort. Beautiful craftsmanship and sculptors blended to create such awe inspiring design. This review cannot be completed in one visit.
