  It was 2nd best after Cotton College long ago. This was best for Science. But with time it's name got vanished.

  Gud for the intermediate students of arts and science, but this college is not so good for commerce students as the college does not has Banking subject, and many options are not valid in commerce stream.

  Arya vidyspeeth college situated in the heart of Guwahati city, is one of the premier institutions of higher learning in not only Assam but the whole of North East India. It is the educational institutions starting from primary level to post-graduate level that was born out of the missionary zeal and relentless efforts on the part of a team of visionaries, Prof. Radha Kanta Das, a prominent mathematician of the region, educationist Sarat Chandra Goswami and some other leading citizens were involved in this endeavour.

  This is one of the best college in the city, specially for Arts. The faculties are very experienced and the education is good. One major problem is: some student told me that in some of the pass course classes, some lecturer give their lectures in Assamese only, which few students don't understands. Which in my opinion lecture should be given in a language which everyone understands, in this case english as it is the medium of the college. Overall the infrastructure of the college is poor and old but the education here is One of the best in the city.
