  GPO srinagar is nothing less than a hell!! Worst service! They dont deliver any parcels on time. They never do. They dont deserve even a single star rating but unfortunately i dont have a choice.😏

  The Bombay high court asked the government why courier companies were not being registered under the Carriage of Goods Act, 2007 which aims at regulating the services tendered by these businesses. The HC was hearing a PIL that alleged that there was no seriousness on the part of the government to implement the Act. The PIL had also challenged the plea of a well-known courier company that has sought the courier business to be exempted from coming under the purview of the Act. A division bench of justices Shanatnu Kemkar and G.S. Kulkarni was hearing the PIL filed by social worker Rizwan Mohammad Khan through advocate Jacob Kadantot complaining that though the Act had provisions for regulating the courier services, but the government has done nothing to bring courier companies under the ambit of the Act.  Mr Kadantot said that the private domestic courier industry had captured than 50 per cent of the market share of mail services and the number of complaints relating to inefficiency, non-delivery, loss of or damage to consignments has grown.  The absence or lack of any regulatory framework to monitor the courier industry has made it easier for fraudsters and unscrupulous elements to operate in the sector. However, advocate G.W. Mattos informed the HC that the government had registered 509 companies till date and kept the March 31 deadline to registers others.  “The state will be issuing a notice to those who fail to register by the deadline and give them an additional two months to comply,” he said.  While allowing the government time to complete the process of registration the bench asked it to file an affidavit enumerating the reasons for the delay and the measures it was taking to address the grievances against courier companies found lacking in services.

  Having deputed here on a special project to revamp and redesign the technological process for best customer service, this office is full of generous staff who put their best efforts to make the transition smooth. Some glictches are being faced by the customers, but having said services will be nest imclass once revamping is done.
