::It's close proximity to the Governor's House is the reason why this road is not only a very important thoroughfare bit also a very regular spot for protest meets , candle light marches, silent walks by civil society. Recently clicked these pictures of a silent candle light march against the Kathua and Unnao rape case. Attended by school and college students, staff members, religious representative from Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikh community. Soma mixture of students cum academician cum pluralistic civil society groups.

::The Mayo Road bus stop is a very popular place among the visitors, tourists, photographers and couples due to the scenic beauty it posses being the green lungs of the city of Kolkata. The trams here pass on through the gentle meadows along with the Maidan club tents and a busy yet structured road. This bus stop is located just in front of the Calcutta Rangers Club and the University of Calcutta Maidan ground, parallel to the iconic Red Road.
