::It was refreshing to visit the place in the morning. But the lawn a bit dirty. It is really good for playing soccer, frisbee, cricket and others. Views of both sunset and sunrise are wonderful. It is also good place for cycling and jogging.

::Rajpath, near India Gate is the most loved place because of vast green lawns, the boat clubs and the majestic water Falls. The place comes into lime light, particularly, during Republic Day parade. I have been watching the parade since my childhood. My father was very fond of watching the parade live and took us there quite regularly. Those days, in the '70s, the place was not so crowded and security check was neither so stringent nor so troublesome. When I grew up I started visiting the parade alone. Later in the college days I performed my duty at Rajpath during R-Day parade as part of National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteer. This year I visited Rajpath again after a huge gap of time. This time I took my wife and son for the parade rehearsal and found a comfortable place somewhere near the saluting base while walking through the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts. My son is a grown up boy and had special interest in the fly past. As usual the march past was excellent and mesmerizing. Now the rehearsal route is shortened-- from Vijay Chowk to India Gate, except for the full day rehearsal on Jan 23. We enjoyed every bit of the march past. We saw the state tableaux too but it was all just symbolic as the dancers were not in their fancy dresses. It was Jan 20 when I visited he Rajpath to watch rehearsal. There was no ticket and we could see the whole event standing on the pavement. The chairs within the enclosure were empty but policemen did not allow us to sit there. I felt bad about it. One has to stand there for a petty long time and this becomes tiring too. Many women who were carrying kids in their laps sat down on the pavement at one corner or other. I felt very bad about it. The crowd was small and disciplined so there was no harm in allowing them to be seated. Overall it was a happy experience and enjoyable moment with the family. My salute to the armed forces who have kept the zeal and traditions alive.

::It is one of the most clean & well maintained are in Delhi. It is the place where Republic day parade and major events take place. It s a great place for morning walk.It is covered by tress & plants. Its a great place to take professional pictures. A walk from India Gate to Rastrapati Bhawan (President's Palace) is memorable.

::Nice gardens and manicured lawns in a wide area between india gate and central secretariat. One can go for boating here as well. Huge open space at the heart of new delhi. Easily accessible by walk from central secretariat metro
