  Extremely neat and clean ,in one sentence setting example for other railway stations in india. Restrooms is at platform 4 only ,not on platform no 1 .And find them to be cleanest ever till date any where on Indian railway stations. Bus stand is adjacent to main gate ,can easily get inter as well intra city buses from there.

  My train stoped here for couple of minutes only. There was regular tap for drinking water not like RO etc as available in big station. Station was clean. Beautification like depicting local culture would make it great. Did not find shop or vendor selling food. Not even coolie at 6 AM. Salem being important station of tamilnadu, i was expecting it bigger with more facilities.

  An old nice railway station with lot of good facilities. But, improvement required as most of the times the importance is not given due to its attachment to Kerala railway connectivity. There can be more trains towards Chennai every day in the night. The location is in the heart of the city. Lot of good hotels close by. Local buses are available for almost every part of the city just outside the station. One gets excellent vegetarian options in the neighborhood. Good display systems everywhere.

  One of the cleanest railway station in India. Located at prime spot. An important junction of southern railways. Approximately 4 kms from New bus stand. Display boards regarding Arrival/departure information are placed at prominent spot. Platforms are maintained neatly. AC waiting hall is present at platform 4 for reasonable price. Parcel booking office is at platform 1. Many trains stop at this junction. Many eateries are present inside station premises. Foods are generally hygienic here compared to other stations.

  Salem Railway Station one of the busiest stations with all the trains stopping here, the trains stop here for 2-3 minutes, it is recommended to buy Foods and beverages to avoid in train bad food. It is decently maintained. Goods tracking are separated and are unloaded in this station for further connectivity in the region. The station is located approximately 4-5kms from the Salem Central bus terminus. Buses fly frequently shuttle from Railway Station to bus terminus, cabs and autos are available, but don't pay beyond 50bucks for an auto.
