::Paintings and scultpures by famous artists like hebbar and venkatappa are displayed here. Venkatappa after whom the gallery is named was a multitalented person. There is also a display of musical instruments that were played by him.

Spread in two floors, this art gallery boasts of more than 600 paintings. There are art-works belonging to 2000 BC till the medieval period.

::Loved the government museum. So many things to know and learn. They have tried to preserve and showcase belongings from the history, sculptures, architect,art, painting, armour,musical instruments. The one right place for the people those are not really interested in Malls or crowded parks . Kids who are inclined towards history and art will surely enjoy the place. Art Gallery is big enough to show case artists work.
