  When I arrived in Guwahati in Oct, '91, the 3 storey dingy market in Ganeshguri , in front of Ambarish Hotel used to be our favourite "adda" place. It has one of the steepest uncomfortable staircases in Assam ( only Delhi boasts of such steepups!). The corridors were dirty & after 28 years it has remainded "as beautiful & scary" as ever.
